Antoine Maisondieu

Antoine Maisondieu is a Senior Perfumer at Givaudan whose direct, powerful formulas have shaped some of the most commercially successful fragrances of the past two decades.

Born in Grasse into a family of perfumers, and, less obviously, the grandson of Nobel Prize-winning author Albert Camus, he first pursued law and art history before the pull of fragrance proved too strong. A chance internship at Givaudan in the late 1980s became a career, and he has been with the house ever since. His style is shaped by the light and scents of southern France: direct, elegant, and built around strong concepts rather than complexity for its own sake.

His credits span decades and houses, from Armani Code and Burberry Brit to Tom Ford, Valentino, and Prada, where he co-created both Paradoxe and Paradigme alongside his wife and fellow Givaudan perfumer Shyamala Maisondieu.
