Jacques Cavallier Belletrud
Jacques Cavallier Belletrud is a fourth-generation Grasse perfumer and the exclusive nose behind the entire Louis Vuitton fragrance catalogue.
Born in 1962 into a family of perfumers with roots in Grasse since the 15th century, his education in fragrance began at home, his father would arrange scented blotters on his desk each evening for him to identify each morning. During his years at Firmenich he created landmark fragrances including L'Eau d'Issey for Issey Miyake, Jean Paul Gaultier Classique, and Acqua di Giò for Giorgio Armani.
In 2012 he left to become the exclusive Master Perfumer for Louis Vuitton, where he works from Les Fontaines Parfumées in Grasse, a fragrance atelier with its own garden of raw materials sourced exclusively for the house.
